The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) has launched a new mobile app --- Towngas Smart Appliance to support a smart lifestyle. The app provides the following functions through IoT:

• Appliance status monitoring: Real-time monitoring of the status of the left and right burners
• Remote emergency shut-off: Turns off the appliance remotely under exceptional circumstances
• Smart timer: Flame-off timer and reminder
• Burner on reminder: Alert user every 30 min when the appliance is turned on, until knob is at OFF position
• Error reminder: Incorporates appliance error message when user makes a service appointment online
